SP Westcoast DBA Solely Practitioner was started in 2010 by Jim Hassett who had previously worked as a sales rep and nutritional consultant for Standard Process of Southern California. In 2011 with Southern California University of Health Sciences, Jim introduced the Applied Clinical Nutritionist (ACN) certification to his California Practitioners.
Jim is originally from the UK with a history of business and marketing consulting in a variety of industries, including partnering in Sports and Leisure Marketing a Fitness equipment and testing business based in the UK. For the past decade and some, Jim and his team have educated Healthcare Practitioners in the use of whole food supplements and herbs.
Manny Oseguera is a dedicated professional with a strong background in both business and
clinical nutrition. He graduated from Cal State University Northridge in 2010, earning his degree
in Business. Recognizing the importance of nutrition in overall health, Manny expanded his
expertise by obtaining a certification in Applied Clinical Nutrition from the Southern California
University of Health Sciences in 2012.
Since 2013, Manny has been providing clinical support to healthcare practitioners, working
alongside doctors, nutritionists, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care. With a
deep understanding of both business operations and clinical nutrition, he helps practitioners build
successful nutrition practices, ensuring they deliver the highest level of care to their patients.
With over 700 hours of continuing education, Manny is committed to staying at the forefront of
the ever-evolving nutrition science field, ensuring that the healthcare professionals he works with
have the most up-to-date knowledge and tools to enhance patient outcomes through effective,
science-based nutrition practices.
Morgan is Solely Practitioners' New Accounts Representative and Administrator. She has her B.S. in psychology from California Lutheran University. Morgan brings valuable experience in the nutrition and chiropractic space, having grown up in the holistic world—her mother has been a practicing chiropractor for over 30 years—and having spent the past several years managing and supporting patients with their chiropractic and nutritional needs at her mother's practice.
Dr. Thiel conducts private holistic counseling in his office in Grover Beach, California (located in the County of San Luis Obispo). Since 1998, Dr. Thiel has been president of Doctors' Food Research, Inc, a company that distributes food vitamins and other 100% food supplements to health care professionals.
In 1998, Dr Thiel was named Research Scientist of the Year by the American Naturopathic Medical Association. In 1999, he was named Physician of the Year by the American Naturopathic Medical Association. In 2001, he was named Disability Researcher of the Year by the American Naturopathic Medical Association.
Dr. Thiel is the first scientist since World War II to get a paper published in a major medical journal explaining why vitamins found in foods and 100% food vitamins are superior to the synthetic forms that most others take (Thiel R. Natural Vitamins. Medical Hypotheses, 2000; 55(6):461-469).
